As we say goodbye to September and Rheumatic Disease Awareness Month, we'd like to take a quick look at access to care for patients with rheumatic disease. Access varies widely throughout the country, according to the American College of Rheumatology's "Rheumatic Disease Report Card: Raising the Grade on Rheumatology Care in America," which was issued in 2018.States were graded on the number of people per rheumatologist, health insurance rates, whether regulations require drug pricing transparency and lifestyle factors. In this slideshow, we highlight the best and worst performers (spoiler alert: only one state received an A.) For more information about the report, or to check your state's status, click here to access the report.
