FDA Identifies Another Source of Contaminated Epidurals

The FDA cautions against using any injectable products marked "sterile" from Main Street Family Pharmacy of Tennessee.

The FDA is investigating reports of seven adverse events from injectable preservative-free methylprednisolone acetate distributed by Main Street Family Pharmacy of Newbern, Tennessee. Out of an "abundance of caution," the Agency is advising physicians to avoid using any product labeled "sterile" from this source.

One of the adverse events has been identified as a fungal infection.
