Sounding Out Arthritis #2: Ultrasound-Guided Ankle Injection

July 24, 2014

(VIDEO) A demonstration of injection technique, followed by narrated ultrasound images from an actual procedure, show how to use ultrasound to guide aspiration and injection of the tibiotalar joint.

The second video in our series on ultrasound-guided injections features a video demonstration of the procedure, followed by narrated slides depicting actual ultrasound images from injection of the tibiotalar joint from two approaches. One is better for patients with considerable effusion in the ankle.

Guiding you through the procedure is Dr. Paul DeMarco, who is a partner at Arthritis and Rheumatism Associates in Wheaton MD and Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine.
