Sounding Out Arthritis #7: Ultrasound-Guided Knee Injection

June 10, 2015
Paul DeMarco MD

This two-part video demonstrates how to use ultrasound to guide viscosupplementation or steroid injection of the arthritic knee, interspersed with the corresponding ultrasound images.

In the next video in his series on ultrasound in rheumatology, Dr. DeMarco demonstrates how to use the technique to guide an injection into the knee. He offers two approaches, one suitable for the more obese patient, first using a skeleton and then showing an injection into an actual patient.

Ultrasound images interspersed with the videos depict what the clinician sees on the monitor during the procedure.
